Antoni Miró: the enigma as a sign of the consciencs
by Florinao de Santi

When we look at the dark outlines that fill the etchings, lithographies and serigraphies of Antoni Miró, we think he is one of those artists that continues to search-for example- for the enigma that can be behind a figure of Picasso, as a beyond representation. A radicalism is evident in all that, that can emerge in the images through the formal simulacrum, rising intensity, emotions and feelings.

The searched ambiguity that these works produce tends to an accomplished performance where it makes the language precisions evident, of almost conceptual nature and even the emptiness in witch it is immersed.

As his graphic works proves, Antoni Miró seems to look now to «the past fragment», in his exception of the archetype, that can assume the meaning of one of the dynamic structures of the continues recuperation that the conscience establishes with his unconscious dark root.

The surface of the canvas turns into a screen where we can fix cut images, that bring perceptive possibilities in the semantic dynamic of composition and some times, as a moment of struggle of the same images against anonymity, not being only merely heraldic sings.

The secure hand of the artist that defines peremptorily the cutting outlines and firmness of the figures raises the vivid impression left by a slihouette, that has reached the essentiality of a concept and the unreality of a oneiric appearance.

Especially in the pictures like Colom de Pau of 1988 and Personatge of the 90 Miró theorizes complex attitudes where he forms an autre vision, in which work rhythmical mental associations and formal ruptures, in view of a result in accord with the nature of the own present.
